With the purpose of providing our customers with innovative tools, we are looking for an exceptional individual to join our team and  build the most impactful products to empower our customers. The Strategy Activation Director plays a crucial role by aligning the market demands with our corporate strategy, and our product vision to help our customers grow relationships through social media.

Collaborating with key stakeholders across product management, marketing, sales, and other departments, this position operates at the intersection of strategy and execution, ensuring the success of our initiatives and customers. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating strategic priorities, identifying new opportunities, influencing growth-focused roadmaps, facilitating decision-making, and positioning strategic initiatives for success. This role is instrumental in driving Hootsuite's continued success and growth in the competitive realm of social media management.

This role will bring strategic thinking along with a proactive attitude to move quickly and have impact across numerous product areas. This role will have an influential voice at the center of Hootsuite experience and be responsible and accountable for customer outcomes – as evidenced through product usage, business results, and customer success. While working remotely or in a hybrid work arrangement, a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite’s distributed workforce strategy), and in Hootsuite’s Vancouver office, you will report to Vice President, Product Management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop and roll-out Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)-centric roadmaps, supported by product area plans. 
  • Partner with product leadership to ensure roadmaps accomplish our key objectives within set timelines.
  • Develop and drive product and customer data strategy, in close partnership with Product Analytics & Insights.
  • Derive customer and product insights from qualitative and quantitative data to validate hypotheses, set KPIs, and inform decisions. 
  • Provide leadership to strategic business and customer initiatives across broad product areas and a wide range of internal stakeholders, including Product Managers. 
  • Ensure initiatives are achieving their targeted outcomes. Monitor and report on progress, proactively flag potential risks along with mitigation strategies, and present pivot opportunities as needed.
  • Lead and facilitate efficient cross-functional collaboration, leveraging processes, models, and frameworks as necessary.
  • Enable smart product investment choices, maximizing ROI and customer impact.
  • Continually improve Hootsuite’s overall effectiveness by changing the way we work at the operational, organizational and individual levels in order to grow our business.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Proven leadership experience in Strategy, Product Management, or Consulting roles
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strategic leadership: Active leadership in strategic planning; demonstrated experience designing and enabling execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Customer Focus: Subject-matter expertise on SMB or Enterprise marketing needs.
  • Accountability: Willingness to hold oneself and others accountable to commitments.
  • Commitment to Results: Consistent achievement of customer and product results.
  • Technical Proficiency: Quantitative modeling and strategic visualization; SQL and other data capabilities are helpful.
  • Prioritization: Focus time/energy on the most impactful issues/opportunities. 
  • Decision Making: Ability to recommend the best course of action based on quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Influence and stakeholder management: Balance urgency with understanding to effectively mobilize people toward action. Leverage informal authority to align several teams in prioritization and execution. 
  • Problem Solving: Uses an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems. Look beyond the obvious to understand the root causes.
