The Director of Strategic Sourcing will be a key leader within our procurement team, leading the transformation of our end-to-end sourcing process for direct ingredients and packaging. We are looking for a data-driven expert with deep experience in the food industry, who is interested in helping us grow our best-in-class supply chain and lead the discovery and commercialization of new ingredients. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing best practices and technology throughout our procurement organization, building tools and data to enable strategic decision-making, leading our end-to-end costing process, and working cross-functionally to drive growth and product innovation. 

You will lead a planning team, a center of excellence team, and a product validation team that partners with category managers and our culinary team to discover, evaluate, and develop new ingredients. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is experienced with driving change across an organization, with a focus on impact and action.

You will...
  • Develop and implement a strategic sourcing process for our direct ingredients and packaging spend, creating an iterative process that continuously improves our purchasing power and creates value for our customers, partners and business
  • Partner with our category leadership to execute the strategic sourcing category review process
  • Lead and continue to develop our product validation and commercialization process, partnering with category managers to develop a pipeline of new ingredients for menu innovation
  • Lead the evaluation and onboarding of products from new and existing suppliers, and work closely with culinary to develop new custom ingredients
  • Develop a robust procurement analytics process which leverages market, supplier, product and historical consumption data and analyses to drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities
  • Own our end to costing processes from budget creation to menu execution for direct ingredients and packaging, partnering cross functionally with category management teams, Finance, Menu Planning
  • Lead development and implementation supplier scorecards and service metrics, collaborating closely with our data science, food safety, and quality teams
  • Oversee and develop a comprehensive procurement supplier/contract management processes to promote agility in purchasing
  • Cultivate a high performing team and be equally comfortable developing and leading business analysts and product-focused teams
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and executing on new capabilities and processes that strengthen our supply chain, improve cost, and drive a better customer experience.

You have...
  • Total of 8+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or product commercialization, consulting experience preferred
  • BA/BS degree in business, supply chain or related discipline, MBA a plus
  • A successful track record of value creation from data-driven insights in sourcing, supply chain or operations management
  • Expert knowledge and interest in strategic sourcing and continuous improvement processes
  • Strong quantitative and analytical experience (either through education or professional experience), including expertise with G-Suite, Excel and procurement systems
  • Experience managing and leading a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Flexibility to travel (up to 25%)
  • Flexibility to work weekends when required (2-3 times per quarter)
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications

New York Pay Range$143,500—$205,000 USD
