Are you looking to make a real impact and play a meaningful role in the growth of our company? Elastic, the Search AI company, is seeking a U.S. Public Sector Marketing leader to help take Elastic through its next phase of growth in the segment!

The Director of U.S. Public Sector Marketing will play a pivotal role in helping to shape our go-to-market strategy, providing the opportunity to make an immediate impact on both our short-term deliverables and long-term strategic goals.

You will build and implement a marketing strategy for the segment that captures the mindshare of our customers and prospects, industry influencers, and partner community. Support the creation of integrated go-to-market strategies for our top public sector priorities. Develop and implement multichannel campaigns to increase awareness around the breadth of our portfolio and deliver pipeline in support of product investments and geo sales targets.

This role requires a combination of critical thinking, strong planning, organizational, and execution skills to successfully plan, develop, complete and measure field marketing activities to deliver marketing contributions to the sales and partner pipeline.

This position will report directly to the Vice President of Regional and Partner Marketing.

Responsibilities:
  • The public sector team is highly collaborative and team-oriented, and this role will partner closely with government affairs, capture development, sales, product marketing, engineering, executive leadership, and Elastic’s growing base of partners
  • You will work across the public sector team to build trusted relationships and drive customized marketing plans
  • Orchestrate the creation of public sector-specific marketing and sales content needed to support the go-to-market strategy, lead generation, and sales process
  • Build brand awareness throughout the segment through thought leadership, public relations, speaking engagements, and social media activities
  • Drive quality demand generation programs in developing qualified sales leads and crafting brand awareness activities. Stimulate acceleration of the sales cycle, and build customer relationships
  • Craft and implement targeted regional marketing programs to meet marketing goals, including but not limited to field events, account based marketing (ABM), trade-shows, ElasticON events, etc.
  • In collaboration with key team members, plan and implement digital marketing campaigns to include ABM, webinars and virtual programs for top verticals within the segment
  • Develop the overall partner marketing strategy for the segment
  • Measure and report to leadership on the program’s effectiveness, utilize available dashboards and reports, and continuously refine programs to optimize effectiveness
What you bring along:
  • 10+ years of demonstrated ability in U.S. Public Sector tech marketing from a regional or field perspective
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to connect on multiple perspectives when seeking teamwork in accomplishing deliverables in order to ensure a diverse range of solutions are considered.
  • Proactively processes insights and recommendations, based on (past) personal and professional experiences and/or relationships.
  • The ability to work on sophisticated issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. You have the ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for acquiring results
  • Flexibility to adjust to a multifaceted fast-growing environment.
  • Flexibility to travel at least 20% of the time within the region.
  • This person must be located in or near Washington, D.C.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
