About the role

As the Web Technologies Director, reporting to the VP of Client Engineering, you will join an existing team that builds web-based platforms across desktop, smart television, gaming consoles, and partner devices. You will bring hands on experience to these platforms and work with our Principal client solutions engineers to help foster a culture of excellence in operations, engineering, and delivery. You will lean on your engineering leadership experience to continue team development and collaborative cross functional partnership.

We are considering applicants for the location(s) of Culver City, San Franciso, Dallas, New York, or US Remote.

About You

• You find joy whether navigating the challenges of leading people, or getting into the weeds of the application infrastructure and architecture
• You have 10+ years of applicable engineering/development experience
• You have 5+ years of leadership experience in a software engineering capacity.
• You have a high-level understanding of web development technologies, frameworks and languages.
• You are familiar with modern web development tools and practices.
• You have built and managed global and cohesive teams while recognizing and nurturing talent.
• You create an environment where engineers feel motivated and supported
• Demonstrated Experience with the following:
• Align web development strategies with business objectives.
• Create and manage development roadmaps.
• Implement and oversee testing processes, test automation, continuous integration and delivery.
• Implementing web security best practices and measures.
• Build scalable and fault-tolerant systems
• Lead and develop applications with metrics-based planning.
• You have the following front-end technology skills:
• Languages: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Frameworks & Libraries: Experience with front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and familiarity with serverless computing concepts and related services.
• Performance: Understanding of key performance metrics and tools to measure and improve web performance

Our web development teams support millions of users across our desktop web client, smart television apps, gaming consoles, and partner devices. We collaborate with product, design, program management, video engineering, platform engineering, and service monetization to deliver a unique and enriching experience for our customer. Our primary objective is to provide a unique and enriching experience that delights our passionate fans.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
