About our People Collective:

We call it Monzo Magic. Mission. Action. Growth. Inclusion. Care. It runs through everything that we do and within the People Collective it’s how we set Monzo up for success by bringing mission led people together to do work and banking differently. We foster a culture that centres on our customers and brings together the best of tech with the best of banking. We empower a diverse, high performing, innovative and agile workforce in doing the most impactful work of their careers to date. It’s an ambitious task to scale this culture and ways of working, but it’s a mission we’re committed to.

We are looking for an experienced leader to come to Monzo to continue raising the bar on what diversity, equity and belonging means in a modern workplace that is growing quickly. Making measurable progress that makes Monzo safer, and allows Monzonauts to do the best work of their lives, is core to how we work. We are looking for someone who is excited to set an inspiring vision and make meaningful progress towards it. You will be part of the People Experience Leadership team and report directly to the VP People Experience. You will collaborate with our most senior leaders and People Partners to drive change throughout Monzo.

We have C-Suite level company goals related to diversity and inclusion as well as local strategies in order to move the needle where we feel it will have the most impact. Our employee networks also have their own roadmaps in order to improve the experience for all within Monzo. Your role will be to enable and empower leaders and groups throughout Monzo to execute against your vision.

The Role What you'll be doing:
  • You will set the strategy for D&I at Monzo to deliver against our company wide goals and to make meaningful progress in identified areas of priority.
  • You will collaborate and influence c-suite level stakeholders and senior leaders throughout Monzo to cultivate inclusive leadership that optimises for equity and belonging at a company level.
  • You will be managing a small but mighty team of one and collaborate effectively to ensure both a strategic and operational view is taken to D&I work.
  • You’ll take a data-based approach to D&I, analysing our internal data and reporting on it to inform priorities and decisions across Monzo and communicating progress and pain points at every level.
  • You’ll train and develop People Partners and Advisors to carry out D&I interventions in the Collectives they support, collaborating with them and other leaders to make a measurable impact.
  • You’ll take an empowering and collaborative approach to D&I, aiming to never be a single point of failure and to create processes that enable the broadest number of Monzonauts to carry out D&I work and truly enhance our inclusive culture.

Your first year in the role will look like:

  • Setting the strategy for D&I that brings this work to life for all Monzonauts across all levels and communicating effectively to ensure engagement across Monzo.
  • Owning the strategy related to employee networks, collaborating with the employee network councils to ensure they are well supported, delivering impact and are providing a sense of inclusion and belonging.
  • Collaborating with our Talent squad in order to make a step change in how we bring the best people to Monzo.
  • Conducting industry research to identify gaps and opportunities in order to raise the bar of D&I at Monzo.
  • Designing and delivering a curriculum of experiential and self-driven learning for people of all levels, based on Monzo-specific case studies and actionable insights to incorporate into our leadership development programmes.
  • Reviewing our people processes to ensure all processes are grounded in D&I principles with governance controls built in throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Delivering key reports and publications such as our D&I report, gender pay gap report, women in finance updates etc.

You should apply if:
