Critical Mass' Internship opportunities are part of our Trailhead Program and will provide a 12-week jump-start to your career. The program is a fast-track to launch your career through regular learning opportunities, mentorship, client work exposure, while also getting paid. We aim to show you all the amazing work we do here at Critical Mass, and to support you as part of the team! You will have the opportunity to try the digital agency world through multiple internship and client projects to see if it's for you! 

Our Internship will run from May 21-August 9, 2024.

The DE&I Intern will work closely with the DE&I Core team and the DE&I Board and report directly to the Director of DE&I. This is an exciting and necessary role that will be responsible for assisting with the organization and administration of relevant DE&I programming, training, and other global strategies to continue fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace for the agency. 

You Will:

  • Support DE&I Board initiatives, bringing ideas and helping to ideate alongside the DE&I Advisor and Affinity Group Leads all under the guidance of the Director of DE&I (ie helping to coordinate in-office social events, virtual speaker engagements, community building, and volunteering opportunities) 
  • Assist with the coordination and scheduling of current programs, DE&I (virtual) meetings, affinity group meetings (full groups and leadership), and relevant DE&I events or programming.  
  • Help create visual assets for in-office flyers, social posts, and other communications.
  • Update and maintain various sections of DE&I materials (including the events calendar, the language on programs and partnerships, photo galleries, and meeting minutes).
  • Assist with other DE&I needs as necessary.

You Have:

  • A fervent desire to build community.
  • A healthy curiosity about diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. This includes editing work for spelling and grammar, with a high attention to detail.
  • Capacity to organize and prioritize multiple projects, meeting and communicating around deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office (word, excel, teams) and Apple Keynote, to produce quality visual and written communications, including presentations and reporting.
  • Passion to work effectively with others cooperatively, to accomplish work and participate in team efforts. 
  • Proven aptitude to represent the company with professionalism and honesty, consistently acting in an ethical manner.

The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $21.00 per hour and we continually review ranges to address skills, experience and markets.  Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position.
