ZDNET is seeking a full-time Editor who will write, edit, and publish content about innovative new products and technologies. The role demands a person with attention to detail, a passion for the written word, and a genuine enthusiasm for the latest tech products.
What You’ll Do:
- Write and publish daily stories under deadline
- Engage in product testing and hands-on analysis to offer valuable buying advice to ZDNET readers
- Develop strong relationships with tech companies to get new products to test
- Write great headlines and descriptions, and select compelling images to represent stories
- Scan press releases and social media to discover compelling new products
- Write on assignment, including reviews, product lists, deals posts, how-to, and other stories
- Write product news, including embargoed information that demands timeliness and trustworthiness
- Attend technology events and regularly meet with company representatives in person and virtually
- Use analytics and other tools to track and optimize story performance
- Contribute to timely content opportunities, including Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and shopping events
- Develop feature stories that provide deeper value to readers, demonstrate the brand's authority and help consumers make decisions about the products they buy and how they use them
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of digital journalism experience
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or English
- Experience covering technology, innovation or related topics
- Experience evaluating and analyzing products
- Experience shooting product photos and capturing product videos
- Experience writing under tight deadlines
- Meticulous organizational skills
- Experience with spreadsheets (Excel and/or Google Sheets)
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily deadlines
- Must be adaptable; since the media and tech industries are two of the fastest changing industries on the planet, priorities change rapidly and regularly
- Must be trustworthy, committed, considerate, and a good listener; high emotional IQ

Compensation:
- Cash Compensation Range: $66,000-$84,000**Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
