Red Ventures is seeking an experienced Editor II to help accelerate our coverage of college degrees, certificates, courses, and other educational and career pathways. Our editors are nimble and meticulous, capable of handling a high volume of content without losing sight of editorial standards and quality. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across diverse content types, including news, survey reporting, marketing, and social media.

You should be comfortable working with a house style guide (based on AP), upholding and updating editorial guidelines, and staying informed about the latest style conventions. A collaborative mindset and ability to work as part of a team is a must. 

RV EDU is proudly headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is dedicated to cultivating local talent and driving economic development on the island. While many of our roles are located in Puerto Rico, some are also located at RV’s main campus south of Charlotte, NC, or are remote-based. This role is to be based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico with flexibility of remote/hybrid work. 

What You'll Do:

  • Edit consumer-facing content related to online education, degrees, courses, and other educational and career pathways
  • Edit higher education news, survey reports, and other data-driven content
  • Plan, create, and edit social media content 
  • Format and reorganize articles as needed for clarity, concision, and impact
  • Adhere to in-house guidelines for branding, tone, and voice
  • Fact check articles and adhere to sourcing guidelines
  • Provide regular feedback to writers and reporters
  • Uphold editorial guidelines and best practices
  • Learn and employ SEO best practices to ensure content is highly visible in search engines
  • Approve pieces for publishing and provide high-level edits for clarity, facts, and organization when needed
  • Balance a high-volume workload to ensure we hit our monthly publication goals

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years of editing experience in a digital media, journalism, or digital marketing environment
  • Strong familiarity with AP Style and journalism fundamentals
  • Familiarity with higher education is a plus, but not required
  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, English, creative writing, or a related field
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Familiarity publishing on WordPress or a similar CMS
