About the role

You will manage the editorial monitoring from conception to proof approval for all types of editorial products (manga, agendas, calendars):

  • Discuss and edit translations with translators
  • Edit text, control and finalization of layout with InDesign
  • Layout work and image processing of works
  • EPUB and print proof check
  • Prepare files for printers –> pre-press
  • Write (arguments, summaries, hooks, reading sheets, etc.)
  • Different editorial support tasks

In the role of Editor Coordinator, you will report to the Editorial Manager.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 1+ years experience in the manga/comic's book industry (at least internship)
  • Master's degree in Publishing
  • Fluent English
  • Communication and writing skills
  • Autonomy and ability to work in a team
  • Attention to detail, adaptability to telework, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with computer tools, mastery of InDesign and Adobe Acrobat (Photoshop and Illustrator is appreciated)
  • Mastery of typographic codes, excellent spelling, and knowledge of the entire book publishing process
  • Knowledge of the manga market and conventions
  • Basic knowledge of Japanese
