WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Develop and lead editorial content strategy for assigned team communities centered around seasonal tentpole events.
  • Consults with programming, audio, marketing, commerce, legal, and other internal teams as needed to implement MLB content strategy on team communities
  • Oversee assigned team and macro sites and associated budgets, with seasonal adjustments between tentpoles
  • Develop policies and best practices for assigned team communities
  • Conduct editorial oversight, quality control, and accountability for assigned team communities sites. In some cases, this will include close editorial oversight of original reporting and coverage of sensitive subjects.
  • Work with assigned team communities to continually diversify their contributors and audiences
  • Manage and audit social media and commerce strategies and tactics for assigned team communities
  • Conduct outreach to assigned team communities managers and staffs, and facilitate exchange of story ideas, strategy, tactics, successes, opportunities, knowledge sharing, etc.
  • Serve as point of contact for communications to assigned team communities from Vox Media, which may include working with or communicating messages from: product, support, editorial, video, legal, and/or people & culture teams, in conjunction with centralized SB Nation leads
  • Execute on sales strategies in partnership with stakeholders
  • Hire and supervise full-time employee site/team community producer(s)
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned MLB team communities contributors to SB Nation, and provide consistent and reliable support to contributors
  • Coordinate and collaborate with senior team community management and producers on MLB coverage
WHO YOU ARE
  • At least 3 years experience working as a writer or manager, preferably in the baseball space
  • Advanced knowledge of all things baseball, including Minor League Baseball
  • Management or mentorship experience
  • Demonstrated skills in content strategy, handling budgets, providing editorial assistance, SEO, and digital content creation best practices
  • Ability to take direction and work independently within a collaborative, team environment
  • Incredible attention to detail

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

Pay Range$77,000—$85,000 USD
