✅The Role

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join our HR team on a maternity leave cover basis. 

This role will be responsible for managing and resolving all employee-related topics within the organization, with a focus on maintaining positive employee relations and ensuring compliance with employment law in various EU countries (the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Ireland). 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of employment law across the EU, be a proactive problem solver, and have the ability to handle complex employee relations matters effectively.

✅Responsibilities and Duties

Employee Relations Management:

  • Address and resolve a wide variety of employee relations issues, ensuring a fair and respectful work environment.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on matters related to workplace issues, conflicts, performance, and conduct.
  • Mediate disputes, provide guidance on conflict resolution, and facilitate necessary follow-up actions.
  • Foster positive relationships and open communication between employees and management.

Employment Law Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to local and EU-wide employment laws and regulations across the various countries in which the company operates.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee rights, benefits, and obligations, particularly regarding maternity leave, sick leave, and other relevant employee entitlements.
  • Stay updated on changes to EU employment law, particularly those impacting employee relations, and ensure the company’s policies and practices align with current regulations.

Policy and Procedure Development:

  • Review and update policies, ensuring they reflect the current legal landscape and best practices.

Collaboration with HR Teams:

  • Work closely with the People Operations team.
  • Provide guidance and advice to People Coordinators in handling complex employee issues.

✅Essential

  • Proven experience in employee relations or HR management, with a deep understanding of employment law, particularly within the EU.
  • Experience in managing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and grievance procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of EU-wide labor laws and regulations, including updates on changes in employment law and their impact on employee relations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm, rational approach in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and HR teams to align on strategies and resolve employee relations challenges.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional language skills are an advantage (French, Dutch, Italian).

  • This is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave with an expected duration of 7 months Approx. July 2025 to February 2026.
