Employee Relations Manager

Reporting into the Director of Employee Relations and Workforce Policies, the Employee Relations Manager will have company wide responsibilities supporting investigations, performance management, accommodations, and more!

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and lead complex workplace investigations related to employee claims and advise leaders and HR Business Partner teams
  • Support managers in the performance management process, including the development and issuance of performance plans and corrective action
  • Support accommodation, Workers Comp and leave requests in line with internal policies and applicable laws
  • Act as a key thought partner as assist in the continuous improvement of the accountability (performance management) program, investigations process, interactive process and develop related training materials
  • Interpret policies and procedures, incorporating knowledge of state and federal employment laws (i. e. ADA, FMLA, EEO), and practice and provide recommendations to resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Lyft's workplace policies and practices in close partnership with Lyft's Legal, People, Inclusion & Diversity teams
Experience:
  • 3+ years of HR/ER investigations and performance management experience
  • JD and/or law enforcement experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII
  • Experience building and improving workplace policies and practices
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize and drive multiple concurrent investigations
  • Strong problem-solver with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely attentive to detail, with superb oral and written communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with people team functions such as People Business Partners, HR Ops and employment legal
  • Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Seattle area is $107,000 - $119,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
