Hearsay Systems is looking for a talented intern in Software Engineering to join our ever-growing Budapest Engineering Team! We have an ambitious growth plan that still ensures individual development in small teams.
As an Intern, you'll have the unique opportunity to join a rockstar team (contracted via student association) and help to develop a leading tech stack in order to empower a market-leading solution, in a micro-service-oriented development framework whose infrastructure is hosted on AWS. The role is well suited for eager candidates willing to learn through close mentorship. The mentors will support the Interns, teaching and coaching them and do everything to improve their knowledge to be successful.

What You'll Do
- Collaborate with various engineers to execute a diverse range of engineering challenges that touch every aspect of Hearsay products
- Learning, writing, and debugging code and troubleshooting software issues
- Working closely with senior team members to improve the product’s functionality
- Be directly responsible for support handling within the team
- Share your thoughts on product features or literally anything across the team
- Interact and communicate with the cross-functional teams at Hearsay, including Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Product Management
What You Have
- Curious and motivated learner - rising juniors and senior undergraduates are welcome.
- Knowledge of any OOP language like Python, C#, Java or Kotlin (at Hearsay you’ll work with Python and Kotlin!).
- Coursework or some experience with data structures and algorithms. It's a bonus if you’ve taken a course on distributed systems.
- Practical knowledge of Python / Javascript or any other scripting languages. Familiarity with utilizing modern version control systems such as Git.
- Curiosity and being excited to solve open-ended challenges and find innovative solutions to challenging problems (Cloud, AWS, Azure etc.).
- Solid understanding of relational databases (tables, queries, data types, indices).
- Ability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly.
- Work at least 20-30 hours/week on average with flexibility to match your studies.
- Active student status and willingness to work through school association for at least a year.
- You are concise and articulate in your speech and writing.
- Ability to speak and write in English and Hungarian fluently and idiomatically
