The Product Analytics team at Databricks is important for driving the success of our product. It powers the logging infrastructure for our primary website, and helps Data Scientists and Product Managers at Databricks gain deep insights into how their features are being used. Your mission is to lead this team in its partnership with feature teams to ensure that we are using data to make Databricks excellent.

The impact you will have:

  • Lead a talented engineering team tasked with providing telemetry infrastructure for Databricks.  
  • Oversee sustained recruitment of top-tier talent, encouraging a and synergistic team structure, and collaborating with all partners.
  • Implement processes to build product strategy according to organizational goals and priorities
  • Take input from feature teams and improve adoption of new programs across the organization.Make company-wide impact by providing critical insights to Data Science and Product partners..
  • Define and guide the future of UI logging infrastructure at Databricks.
  • Grow a world class team of software engineers working on UI infrastructure.
  • Ensure delivery against milestones and understanding of product teams.
  • Evolve organizational structure to align with long-term projects, build "5 ingredient" teams with good comms architecture
  • Manage technical debt, including long term technical architecture decisions and balance product needs

What we look for:

  • 1+ years experience working as an Engineering Manager, in an Frontend or related role
  • Experience with infrastructure, building great UIs, performance, and data-driven UI insights
  • Can ensure the team builds high quality and reliable infrastructure services. Experience being responsible for testing, quality, and Service level agreements of a product. 
  • Attract, hire, and coach engineers who meet the Databricks hiring standards. Can up level the existing team by hiring top-notch senior talent, growing leaders and helping struggling members of the team and guide their careers. Experience managing distributed teams preferred

 

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Local Pay Range$182,400—$247,000 USD
