The Fulfillment group, within the Marketplace at Lyft, is responsible for determining what inventory can be reliably offered for a given rider session and fulfilling rider requests. The group comprises several sub-teams that generate feasible offers for riders, connect rider requests with drivers, and maintain a demand and supply lifecycle platform that powers an exceptional rideshare experience.

As the Engineering Manager for the Matching team in the Fulfillment group, you will be responsible for leading and growing a team of talented engineers responsible for building and maintaining critical platforms, algorithms, and product features that help Lyft deliver the best ride match and ride dispatch experience to our riders and drivers.

Responsibilities:
  • Set the technical vision and team strategy for Matching engineering.
  • Build and lead a team of server engineers that are collaborative, inclusive, and respectful.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional partners to understand needs and requirements.
  • Coach and guide the professional and technical development of your team members.
  • Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high-potential candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Experience:
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, a related technical field, or relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally with experience in a two-sided marketplace.
  • Passion for building scalable and extensible solutions that enable others and ensure a high-quality product.
  • Experience launching and supporting consumer-facing products.
  • Ability to thrive in a heavily cross-functional environment and drive projects to completion regardless of the organizational structure.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is $172,000-$237,000 CAD. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
