Ethics & Compliance Manager

Deliveroo's Ethics & Compliance team promotes a culture of using good judgement and acting with integrity. This involves developing a clear understanding of Deliveroo's rules and standards to provide the necessary tools, guidance and oversight needed to adhere to them.

Sitting part of the Legal organisation but operating as an independent function, the Ethics & Compliance team empowers employees to confidentially raise concerns, thereby reinforcing a speak-up culture. Additionally, the team conducts investigations of potential misconduct and provides support for the protection of whistleblowers.

We are looking for an Ethics & Compliance Manager, who will support the ongoing implementation of all aspects of Deliveroo’s global ethics and compliance program, drive key workstreams, support the business on new initiatives and investigate & remediate issues of concern.

We’re looking for someone who likes to solve difficult problems, is willing to explore creative ways to engage stakeholders, and wants to build a strong, innovative compliance program - all whilst acting with a strong sense of purpose.

This role is a hybrid position; you will need to be on-site in a Deliveroo office 3 days a week.

What You'll Do:
  • You will help to manage Deliveroo’s ethics & compliance efforts across multiple international jurisdictions, working with stakeholders to make our compliance systems and controls the best they can be;
  • You will conduct periodic risk assessments, to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across the various business functions and geographic regions;
  • You will regularly monitor and audit internal processes and act on developments in compliance regulations and laws, performing reviews to make sure our controls are up to date, and report your findings to Legal leadership;
  • You will conduct desktop due diligence on our supply chain and partners;
  • You will help the team develop, implement, and update Ethics & Compliance policies and procedures to align with changing regulatory requirements;
  • You will deliver training and communications on our policies and procedures, to make sure employees have a clear understanding of Compliance obligations and ethical standards;
  • You will conduct internal investigations to address any alleged breach of rules, regulations or policies, and develop other measures designed to enforce Deliveroo’s Code of Conduct.
What we're looking for:
  • Experience working in compliance, auditing or legal, at a fast-paced, multinational organisation, with a strong track record of execution and delivery;
  • Experience of working with global stakeholders across all functions and levels;
  • A university degree, preferably in Law;
  • Experience of working with the Bribery Act, Criminal Finances Act, International Sanctions, Anti-Money-Laundering laws and/or the Modern Slavery Act;
  • Strong English communications skills, both written and verbal, with excellent attention to detail; additional languages are a plus;
  • Experience of conducting internal investigations and developing other measures designed to enforce the Company’s Code of Conduct;
  • Curiosity and hunger for learning and happy to “roll your sleeves up” and turn your hand to anything.
  • A practical, innovative and pragmatic approach to solving problems and mitigating compliance risk.
