Events and Logistics Operation Manager
You Role and Your Team:
- The role sits within the Brand & Design Team, which oversees all marketing assets from mock-ups to marketing merchandise
- Reporting to the Senior Exhibitions Manager you will work closely with the Exhibition & Events Team, which plans and executes Lilium’s live marketing activities worldwide, as well as with our customs and logistics specialists, procurement, accounting and external partners such as trade show logistics suppliers, international transport agencies as well as Lilium's events and exhibition agencies.
Your Day to Day:
- Keep track of global marketing activities (exhibitions & private sales events) which include display of mock-ups to ensure efficient and on-time transports as well as preparing different scenarios for transport requests
- Raise and adjust internal shipping requests to monitor our asset stock
- Support with onboarding of new marketing assets in INFOR
- Request quotations for sea, air and road transportation in alignment with the Exhibition & Events team and consult on offered services (included services, limitations, liabilities, incoterms etc)
- Ensure on time deliveries to private venues & exhibition centers, oversee storage of assets between and during shows
- Support medium-term planning to guarantee best rates for all means of transportation
- Own customs processes (temporary import, export) together with the customs specialist and respective partners at event venues
- Ensure PR process and payment are efficiently managed together with procurement & accounting
- Identify handling improvements (example: individualized containers) and own the projects
- Work closely with our HO Treasury for asset insurances
- Coordinate repair works for mock-ups with Brand & Design team & our partner
- Support events team with merchandise orders (brochures, goodies, small models), monitor our stock and own their transport (and return) to & from shows
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (university of applied sciences) in global logistics or related field
- Extensive experience in trade show logistics with various logistics partners worldwide
- 5-10 year of experience in global transportation logistics (sea, air, road, rail)
- Experience in handling and managing large and complex mock-ups
- 3-5 years of leadership experience, ideally in a hands-on operational environment
- Preferably insights gained within the aviation industry
- Fluent in German and English (C1)
- Certified knowledge of import & export processes (German: Zollfachkraft)
- Profound knowledge in global taxation of exhibition assets
- Strong pro-active communication skills across different departments and with several external partners
- Capability to solve ad-hoc requests and take end-to-end ownership
- Proficient technical skills, including MS Office, ERP systems
- Assertive, accountable and can-do attitude in ever-changing environment with short lead times
- Mindful observance of budget targets
- Proven record of collaboration with start-up and early-stage companies
- Willingness to travel 25-30% worldwide (including weekends when necessary)
