EVENTS, LEAD

The Events Lead position is a leadership role responsible for, but not limited to, staff supervision, oversight of guest services and customer satisfaction, and quality control in one or more of our food service outlets. This individual works directly with hospitality leadership to properly delegate tasks, monitor the flow of service patterns, improve customer service interactions, and fills in as the key point of contact in the supervisor or manager’s absence. They are also responsible for overseeing the event area upkeep and directly addressing concerns or complaints from the customers in person. The lead is able to work all service outlets and can troubleshoot equipment issues, problem solve, and communicate at a high level. The Events Lead supports the mission by upholding friendly, welcoming service environments that enhance the productivity and morale of the workforce while ensuring the staff is performing to departmental and company standards. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist team with meeting time and quality standards set by supervisor
  • Develop and execute detailed services, timeline, and schedules
  • Enforce proper food safety practices with staff
  • Able to execute and interpret event orders
  • Ensure record keeping logs are up to date and accurate
  • Facilitate effective communication of team or operation needs between staff and leadership
  • Fill in at workstations and any other food services outlets and locations as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Monitor cleaning of service equipment and dining areas
  • Monitor quality and consistency of food products at point of service
  • Monitor staff rotations, break coverage, and day to day responsibilities
  • Support ongoing staff development
  • Support the setup, execution and breakdown of services and/or events
  • Support training of all hospitality roles and responsibilities
  • Work with hospitality leadership to plan services, deliver performance feedback, and support conflict resolution

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of hospitality experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • 7+ years of experience in hospitality management, event planning or related field
  • 9+ years of food service experience in a customer service role
  • Experience in high volume catering settings, including various styles (reception, buffet, bar, full service meals)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience working in large team settings
  • Strong people leader skills
  • Experience in all areas of a formal event space setting including bartending, serving and porting

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to carry large heavy items unassisted (up to 25 lbs)
  • Ability to work gracefully under pressure.
  • Able to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects
  • Able to stand for long periods of time – up to 10 hours a day
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime, weekends holiday as needed.
  • Must have or be able to obtain manager level food safety certification
  • Must participate in internal leadership and development training
  • Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and extreme attention to detail.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Bartending experience is a must.
  • Valid Florida Serve Safe Certificate and Serve Safe Alcohol Certificate or willingness to obtain them before employment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range: Events Lead/Level 2: $23.00 - $25.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential

Events Lead/Level 3: $25.00 - $27.50/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
