We are seeking an Executive and Internal Communications Associate to join Elastic and work closely with our Chief Information Security officer (CISO) as well as other members of the company’s senior leadership team. The Executive and Internal Communications Associate is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan to enhance and promote Elastic’s vision and strategic goals to our internal and external audiences globally.

The chosen candidate will craft communications strategies that consider both proactive and reactive tactics. They will identify high-value engagements that provide the optimal platform to reach our audiences and develop compelling, insight-rich content to inform and encourage them. They will maintain a balance of proactive guidance and strategy with detailed delivery to become a trusted partner to the leadership team. They should have a proven track record of delivering results by producing high-quality content, an ability to earn and maintain trust across collaborators at all levels of seniority, and insist on the highest standards for quality, attention to detail while working on projects simultaneously.

This is a distributed role and requires a self-starter with a bias for action.

Key job responsibilities
  • This role is responsible for developing, organizing and completing essential communications programs for Elastic’s CISO, including internal communications, media opportunities, and speaking engagements at industry, government, and thought leadership events.
  • Internal executive content support (slide development, executive messaging)
  • Prepare executives for media interviews, press conferences, and internal and external speaking engagements to include internal communications via email or other channels; video script writing; and social media strategy, content creation and execution.
  • Apply organizational skills to the management of high-level communications opportunities, both internally and externally
  • Handle speaking engagement calendar for the CISO and Elastic senior leadership team with other Comms team members to ensure alignment of key messages both internally and externally
  • Measure and share results of engagements to evaluate impact
  • Conduct research and monitor industry trends and developments to find opportunities for improving executive communications.
  • Provide guidance and support to executives during fast paced situations and ensure timely and accurate communication to relevant partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work optimally with executives and collaborators at all levels.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Serve as an integral part of Elastic’s Global Communications team and liaise with other team members globally to support executive presence in all regions.
Basic qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience supporting senior executives
  • Experience working within the business-to-business technology sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
