What's the opportunity? 🤔

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a 12 month contract to get the experience of joining a high growth SaaS company and work directly with the R&D senior leadership team.

In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to work directly with strategic, driven and fast paced leaders within the R&D function of Intercom. These leaders are critical to the success of the company and are looking for EA who can work with them to support and enable them to do their best work. The ideal candidate will have a passion for strategic partnership and have the ability to take responsibility and ownership of a wide variety of tasks to support the Leaders. You will thrive working with a high level of autonomy and initiative to ensure the maximum efficiency. This exciting role requires an ability to proactively anticipate needs, think critically as well as strategically to offer high impact solutions for your leaders as well as part of our global EA team.

What will I be doing? 🚀

A more detailed view of what you can anticipate to be working on:

  • Direct support to R&D Leaders, understanding their strategic priorities to help deliver them and that of the company in managing their needs accordingly, often juggling many requests at once
  • Transactional support including calendar management involving high-volume/complexity, frequent re-prioritization of meetings and the ability to strategically prioritise access to your Leaders as well as managing rituals and rhythms within team(s)
  • Owning or supporting on projects at times with strategic focus with the project management of major/cross-functional tasks to assist with the asks of your Leaders or the EA team by collaborating with stakeholders
  • Supporting your Leaders to ensure they don’t miss those important employee updates and milestones (including performance reviews, interversaries, celebrations etc.)
  • Booking global travel, coordinating and preparing clear details to ensure a seamless experience for the Leader(s)
  • Helping to thoroughly understand the world of your leaders, asking questions and doing the necessary research and reporting on various needs relevant to the Leader which can mean a quick turnaround
  • Striving to deeply understand the EA team's goals to achieve together as a team or individually
  • Work with other team members on larger projects as well covering in the event of leave
  • Other miscellaneous tasks from time to time 
  • This is a one year contract.

 

What skills do I need? 📖

This role is the right fit if you have unbelievable organisational skills, you're curious, love to learn and grow by asking great questions with a creative, problem-solving edge. 

You seek information beyond what is plainly presented to you, with an aim to understand your Leader(s) goals and actively find ways to be helpful in executing these goals. You should be enthusiastic and eager to help wherever you can, and do whatever it takes to ensure progress, while being friendly, collaborative and approachable.

You should also have:

  • 3+ years experience supporting a number of Senior Director, VP or General Manager in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to initiate complex, high-level, multi-phase tasks and see them through to completion with minimal assistance
  • High bar for professionalism and confidentiality
  • Superb transactional skills and a knack for noticing and remembering details
  • Dependable and consistent as well as strong in planning, priority setting and execution
  • Excellent research skills, ability to research anything effectively
  • Ability to calmly deal with ambiguity and ambiguous situations as they arise
  • Be consistent in the delivery of the core EA skills around transactional items, calandra management etc.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with various stakeholders in various forms of communication tools i.e. email, slack, verbally
  • Capability and desire to flex communication style to meet different stakeholder needs
  • Be able to prioritise workload to manage multiple requests from Leaders or stakeholders at the same time
  • Familiarity with Gmail, Google calendar, Google Drive, Slack, mobile software etc.
