The Facilities Associate is responsible for the overall upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of the distribution center inside and outside of production.  The Facilities Associate will provide support to the maintenance, housekeeping, and recycling teams.

Essential Functions - Maintenance

  • Assist in simple repairs at the direction of maintenance supervisor and/or mechanics.
  • Using basic tools (screwdriver, hammer, wrench set) to perform required services as needed
  • Identify problems and bring to attention of management; repairing or replacing equipment or parts as needed.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Occasionally required to communicate with other departments such as Quality or Production to collaborate and solve problems
  • Responsible for following standard operating procedures (safety, GMP AND SQF policies /procedures, PPE / hygiene policies)
  • Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Reports all food safety sanitation issues to an immediate supervisor 

Essential Functions - Recycling/Facilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  •  Performs typical upkeep tasks to support the facilities team and the entire facility up to and including removing waste, debris and refuse, transporting empty boxes to compactors, monitoring outside of facility for waste and debris, sanitizing equipment and floors at end of shifts, cleaning and sanitizing tools and receptacles and other custodial functions as needed.
  • Occasionally required to communicate with other departments such as Quality or Production to collaborate and solve problems
  • Responsible for following standard operating procedures (safety, GMP AND SQF policies /procedures, PPE / hygiene policies)
  • Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
    • Performs routine sanitation equipment maintenance to ensure equipment functions properly
    • Reports all food safety and/or safety issues to an immediate supervisor 
    • High school diploma/GED and minimum 6 months of related experience

      Work Environment

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to cool and/or cold environment (10º - 40º).  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.  -

      Physical Demands

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, reach and lift for a minimum of 10 to 12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and/or tools. The employee is required talk or hear with or without reasonable accommodation. 

      The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.

       

      Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

      This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are varied according to shift.  Shift can either be Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday.  Hours worked are usually 7am to 5:30pm.  There are occasions where overtime is required based upon production needs.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED and minimum 6 months of related experience

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be willing and able to work entire schedule as we cannot accommodate partial shifts or early/late arrivals.
  • Must be able to count and have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions).
