FC Lead
Our Opportunity:
The Fulfillment Center (FC) Lead will play a hands-on role in our dynamic operation at Houston, TX. This individual will be a change agent who thrives on details, drives daily improvements, and fosters strong relationships with hourly team members.
What you’ll do:
- Support Area Managers in driving operational performance and engagement across a team of up to 45 hourly associates.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Ensure achievement of daily operational goals.
- Coach, mentor, train, and develop team members for performance and career growth.
- Serve as a cultural ambassador, modeling Chewy’s operating principles, ethics, and integrity.
- Act as a liaison between hourly associates and leadership, ensuring two-way communication and engagement.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving e-commerce environment.
- Collaborate with site leadership to identify and implement network-wide best practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team dynamic that encourages feedback, adapts to change, and stays focused on the customer experience.
- Utilize tools including the Warehouse Management System (WMS), Chewy Labor Management System (CLMS), Tableau, and Smartsheet.
What you'll need:
- External candidates: 1+ years of formal people leadership experience in operations, logistics, or a fast-paced environment.
- Internal candidates: Minimum of 3+ months of demonstrated informal leadership (e.g., peer mentoring, project ownership, or training others) in a high-performance setting. Must be in good standing with company.
- Passion for working in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity and change.
- Data-driven mindset with a focus on metrics and continuous improvement.
- Customer-obsessed attitude with a strong commitment to service excellence.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams and levels.
- Proven ability to adapt quickly and deliver results using data and insights.
- Unwavering integrity and high ethical standards.
- Flexibility to work weekends and/or night shifts, as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Physical job requirements:
- · Walk up to 2 miles per shift.
- · Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- · Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
- · Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.
- · Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.
- · Climb up and down stairs (where applicable).
