Federal Sales Account Executive

Our Federal Team is eagerly seeking a vibrant and ambitious Federal Sales Executive to unearth and cultivate new opportunities within Civilian Agencies. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves establishing, developing, and nurturing new relationships, strategizing and implementing cold calling, leading demand-generation activities, and synergizing with channel and ecosystem partners.

What will you be doing?

  • Developing New Relationships: Initiate and cultivate relationships within whitespace accounts in Civilian Agencies through strategic cold calling and demand-generation activities.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Execute and oversee the full sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification through to deal closure, consistently aligning efforts to surpass sales objectives.
  • Aligning Solutions to Client Needs: Accurately comprehend client needs, proficiently communicating how Sumo Logic’s solutions can meet those needs, and ensuring 100% client satisfaction.
  • Forecasting and Product Demonstrations: Create and deliver precise sales forecasts and assist in demonstrating products through web tools to prospects and clients.
  • Business Prospecting: Deploy aggressive business prospecting strategies to discover new opportunities.

What We Need From You

  • Track Record in Sales: At least 5+ years in a Federal Software Sales role, consistently exceeding quotas and adeptly opening and developing mid and large enterprise accounts.
  • SaaS Sales Expertise: Demonstrated experience selling enterprise B2B software applications, preferably involving on-demand/SaaS, Security, or IT Infrastructure Management solutions, to a technical audience.
  • Territory and Account Development: Solid experience developing greenfield territories and adding new accounts in the Federal Software space.
  • Thriving in a Technical Environment: Capable of flourishing in a rapidly growing and evolving technical environment.
  • Passionate About Technology: A deep-rooted interest in technology and its transformative capabilities.
  • Sales Methodology Proficiency: Robust sales DNA, grounded in effective sales methodology, teamwork, and robust communication skills.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,800. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience.
