We are seeking a Field Marketing Manager to support our Public Sector team based out of Appian’s HQ in McLean, VA. Your leadership skills and extensive experience in public sector field marketing will help drive Appian’s growth in this rapidly growing segment of our business. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in strategic field marketing, a passion for technology, knowledge of the government space, and a dedication to exceeding goals — with a particular focus on driving pipeline growth and booked revenue. 

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Gain an understanding of Appian’s Public Sector business, solutions, market positions, persona, and competitive landscape

  • Work closely with  Public Sector sales leadership and Field reps to identify, recommend and implement lead generation activities in the Public Sector vertical 

  • Develop and execute and account-based marketingstrategies to align with account specific territory plans and enable lead generation activities focused on target accounts

  • Work with Marketing Operations to regularly manage, review, and communicate campaign performance metrics with key stakeholders - including leads, and ROI by campaign, channel, and source

  • Make actionable recommendations based on historical data, develop, and execute on strategic decisions

  • Forge strong alliances with the partner and event marketing teams, integrating their programs seamlessly into the overall field marketing strategy to maximize ROI

  • Determine fiscal requirements then prepare and manage budget for field programs

  • Ensure lead and pipeline outcomes are met and ensure strong engagement and communication with the business development, field sales team, and partner organization.

  • Source venues, acquire supporting technology, coordinate development of materials (in some cases as it relates to trade shows) to execute quality programs that drive pipeline growth

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5+ years experience in a B2G Field Marketing Role in an Enterprise Software environment (knowledge of Public Sector is a must)

  • Experience in crafting Public Sector results-driven marketing programs that drive pipeline growth

  • Metrics driven with excellent presentation, project management, Salesforce (CRM), and ROI reporting skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A growth mindset towards our business, function and your development

  • FedCiv and SLED government experience 

  • Experience running other marketing programs in addition physical events

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
