About the team

The Finance and Strategy team's core mission is to help Deliveroo make great decisions. We aim at building long term company value, and we achieve this by setting company strategy, facilitating world-class execution, understanding and sharing the drivers of our business, delivering accurate financial results, all while managing risks and keeping an eye out for opportunities. We foster and evolve a team culture of growth for each team member.

About the job

We are looking for an ambitious finance professional who will focus on Consumer finance. Reporting to the local Finance Director, the ideal candidate will have a passion for building analytical models and using their financial and business acumen to help drive the business forward. She/he will partner the Head of Marketing and the marketing teams and support long-term growth by providing insightful ad-hoc analysis to expand channels, define promo mix, and build business cases to assess new opportunities or investments. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, is analytical, detail oriented and will possess the ability to work well with cross-functional teams across Deliveroo.

The role is based in Milan, with at least 3 days a week to be worked from the office.

What you'll do:

  • Analyse performance of the business on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis to understand drivers of performance and synthesise findings to leadership.
  • Drive ad-hoc analysis and support marketing teams to improve business performance.
  • Build a business case for any new opportunities, such as subscription programs, pricing reviews or incremental strategic investments.
  • Develop the necessary reporting tools for understanding drivers of performance versus business case assumptions.
  • Drive the financial planning process for one or more business lines by working with key stakeholders.
  • Identify key financial risks and develop the framework and controls to mitigate these, including link up with other Deliveroo teams where required like accounting and tax.

What we're looking for:

  • At least 4 years of relevant industry or startup experience.
  • Strong modelling skills, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G-Sheet.
  • Able to influence cross-functional teams without authority.
  • Comfort in working independently in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills combined with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise workloads.
  • Solid business judgement and controllership focus.

We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it.

We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the fastest growing industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy, and we are always looking for new ideas.

Workplace & Benefits

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. Benefits differ by country, but we offer many benefits in areas including healthcare, well-being, parental leave, pensions, and generous annual leave allowances, including time off to support a charitable cause of your choice. Benefits are country-specific, please ask your recruiter for more information.

Diversity

At Deliveroo, we believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing industry.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process. We recognise that you may require adjustments to apply for a position or fairly participate in the interview process. If you require any adjustments, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will make every effort to provide the necessary adjustments to ensure you have an equitable opportunity to succeed.
