About the role:We are looking for a Finance System Analyst to join Monzo’s Finance function to be responsible for supporting delivery of and maintaining systems for our core accounting, regulatory reporting, treasury and financial planning & analysis teams.

You’ll be supporting vendor selection, configuration, maintenance and administration of third party systems to ensure Monzo’s Finance function maximises the value we get out of our financial software. 

Our systems:We currently utilise the following systems across our Finance function. You will be responsible for ensuring these systems are operating effectively and will also help set out the future of these and any new systems:

  • NetSuite as our current accounting system / General Ledger
  • SAP as our future Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Anaplan as our financial planning and forecasting system
  • MORS Software - Treasury Management System and Asset & Liability Management
  • Vermeg - Regulatory Reporting 
  • Lightyear - invoice processing
  • Expensify - expense management

Role ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for: 

  • Maintaining our third party systems (typically Software as a Service), including user access, configuration changes, managing upgrades and being the first point of contact for any vendor related issues
  • Support the selection of any new systems / vendors across the finance function, working closely with the finance and programme management teams to help ensure we select the right vendors
  • Support the implementation of any new systems across finance, ensuring they are appropriately set up and configured to support our financial business processes
  • Monitoring performance KPIs, troubleshooting and resolving any problems with existing software, including updates, configuration changes and upgrades
  • Support Finance leadership on relationship management with vendors, ensuring we are getting the support we need and that project work is on track
  • Work closely with our engineering colleagues to ensuring top-notch data quality and help monitor data flows between systems

You should apply if:

  • In-depth knowledge of at least one accounting / ERP system and operating principles.  Ideally experience of implementing and supporting SAP
  • Experience working within in banking / finance and supporting financial business processes
  • Experience working closely with software vendors, software engineers and data teams
  • Experience working closely with embedded data analysts / scientists
  • Proficient with SQL and data visualisation tooling (such as Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience designing and implementing technical infrastructure for systems support and monitoring
  • Nice to haves
  • A bachelor's or vocational degree in information systems, computing, software engineering, or a related field
  • Some programming experience, familiarity with at least one programming language (go lang, python, ruby)
  • Used to agile ways of working (Kanban, Scrum) tracked in JIRA or Trello

The interview process:

Our interview process involves 2 main stages: 

  • Phone call with recruiter
  • Technical interview with Engineering Director (45 min)
  • Monzo behavioural interview with hiring manager and their manager (45 min)
