Our Opportunity: 

We at Chewy seek a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Financial Analyst to join our growing Commercial Finance team! Combining an understanding of finance, practical knowledge of financial statements, and using data to make and drive decisions, this candidate will perform various financial planning and analysis processes to support key strategic decisions and ensure financial objectives are achieved. 

What You'll Do: 

  • Perform modeling and analytics required to synthesize large sets of data and produce concise outputs to deliver business insights, reporting and analyses, and recommendations and/or conclusions to leadership.
  • Support financial reporting process for weekly and monthly business reviews.
  • Oversee the monthly close process ensuring books and records are accurately maintained in accordance with Chewy's policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the target setting and annual/quarterly planning processes.
  • Aid in the reporting and financial performance management frameworks for the business and help define metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall business performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with the broader Finance, Merchandising, Product, Marketing, Supply Chain and Accounting teams to fully understand the business, systems, and overall operations.
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

What You'll Need: 

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, or Economics.
  • 0-2 years of progressive finance experience and the ability to demonstrate a working understanding of financial statements and common financial processes such as month-end close.
  • Self-motivated with a strong internal drive to learn a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to deliver on deadlines.
  • Financial analysis and modeling skills, and experience in forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Sophisticated Excel (i.e. Powerquery, embedded SQL/Snowflake queries, sumifs statements, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL coding, Hyperion Smartview, Tableau, and Oracle ERP is a plus.
  • Ability to think creatively and work independently as part of a team to address problems given limited resources and time.
  • Able to adapt to ambiguity and manage changing priorities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
