About the job

This position is needed to lead the finance infrastructure and OPEX budget within the R&D business by becoming a strategic business partner to the Core and Product Engineering organization and owning all of the forecasting processes/analysis.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-term forecasts for the R&D business
  • Lead strategic and financial planning processes for infrastructure vendor spend
  • Manage hosting expenditure forecasts, including Amazon Web Services (AWS)  
  • Partner with functional leadership to analyze complex business decisions and provide sound financial perspectives   
  • Prepare and communicate monthly vendor spend variances 
  • Provide financial analysis to support contract negotiations with Infrastructure vendors
  • Manage the OPEX budget and headcount for all Core R&D functions in the business

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with building complex and detailed cost/consumption models
  • Fluent understanding of P&L dynamics, unit economics, and common SaaS metrics.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to build professional relationships will be critical to your success
  • Self-starter with a “can do” attitude who is comfortable asking questions

Desired:

  • Anaplan, Looker, Tableau, and Oracle skills a plus
  • Previous experience with cloud infrastructure economics
Location 

This role will be remote and based in the USA.

This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Travel

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $76,000- $95,000
  • Based in New York, Washington State or California (outside the San Francisco Bay Area): $81,000 - $101,000
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
