We are looking to hire high-energy, entrepreneurial and value-adding talent to join Blenheim Chalcot, the UK’s most successful venture builder. This is a pivotal role within in a small, agile Finance function with exposure to Senior Management, Funding Partners and BC Partners with a fundamental impact on our development and growth.

THE ROLE  

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional to take full ownership of the FP&A function within one of the BC portfolio businesses.  

The FP&A Manager is responsible for forecasting and providing insight to the leadership team on profit, balance sheet and liquidity to help drive better decision-making. The FP&A Manager will lead a newly embedded offshore reporting team which is instrumental to this. 

 

Key responsibilities  

The FP&A Manager is a vital role within the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio business and will require strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to work closely with other business areas.  

The successful FP&A Manager will play a key role in leading and shaping our finance function and translating business performance to the wider team.  

 

Specific duties  

  • Develop and manage the financial budget process to produce accurate plans 
  • Create financial forecasts and scenarios to support long-term planning and strategic decision-making 
  • Monitor and analyse variances to plan as well as trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management 
  • Establish, monitor and report on key performance metrics to also provide insights and recommendations to senior management 
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly (as relevant) P&L, balance sheet and cash flow financial reporting to senior management to provide up-to-date views on the trajectory of the business 
  • Utilise data analytics tools to extract insights from financial data 
  • Implement data-driven decision-making processes 
  • Present financial data and analysis in a visually compelling manner 
  • Leverage technology to enhance financial reporting and analysis processes 
  • Implement best practices in financial reporting and analysis processes 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency 
  • Collaborate with accounting teams for accurate and timely financial closing 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to gather financial data and insights 
  • Evaluate the financial impact of various strategic scenarios 
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management 

 

KPIs & Deliverables 

  • Financial information provides an accurate view of business performance 
  • Valuable commercial insight and recommendations are delivered 
  • Senior management have confidence that decisions and assumptions are supported by data and rigorous analysis
  • Senior management and stakeholder financial reporting is submitted accurately and on time

Skills 

  • Previous working experience within financial service is desirable (but not essential) 
  • Financial planning and analysis experience (budget modelling/forecasting) 
  • Ability to work in high pressure environments with an aptitude for problem-solving 
  • Good organisation, accuracy and attention to detail to effectively meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and intellectually curious
  • A team-player with good stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Good level of competence in Excel and computerised systems 

 

Qualifications 

  • CIMA, ACCA, ACA
