Part-Time Content Editor – India Market (Six-Month Contract)

Taboola is the world’s leading content discovery platform, serving 360B recommendations to over 1B unique visitors each month on the web’s most innovative publisher sites, including NBC, USA Today, The Weather Channel, Tribune and hundreds more. Taboola is working in partnerships with Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, ZTE, and many other smartphone manufacturers around the world, to create a new feature that will display recommended links on their phones. 

We are hiring a part-time freelance editor to focus on content intended for our India market. In this assignment, you will be responsible for reviewing news and articles, and selecting the right content for our news feed and different touchpoints offered to end users. 

You must be well-versed in the Indian realm of news, entertainment, politics, and popular culture, preferably an experienced journalist or editor from a digital media organization that focuses on a largely Indian audience. 

You will be responsible for reviewing content and selecting articles to ensure the experiences offered to end users comply with the following guideline:

• Content Policy

• Legal Requirements OEM Requirements

• Recency

• Relevance

• Variety

• Vertical/Category Diversity 

• Diversity of Sources

To qualify, you must: 

• Be technologically savvy

• Be able to work independently, with clear goals but little supervision

• Be deeply familiar with culture and current affairs in India

• Speak, read, and write both Hindi and English 

• Have prior experience working as a journalist
• If you have a good eye in photography, it will be an advantage. 

The position is a part-time freelance position (4 working hours a day) for a period of 6 months initially with the option of extension.
