Front End Developer
The Front-End Developer (FED) is responsible for completing front-end tasks and providing support to AEM web applications. The FED is able to work independently in basic tasks, assuming ownership for the design and programming required. For more complex work, this individual will rely on existing designs and seek guidance from more senior team members. The FED should also be able to provide constant progress status to a senior level as needed and estimates for his tasks, that must be approved by his senior or technology lead of the current project. A FED works with web applications and a variety of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript and CSS. You Will
- Collaborate in implementing data exchange between application layers and AEM components
- Work closely with Delivery, Creative/UX, Analytics/SEO, Business, Technology, and QA teams to ensure quality and timely web development
- Translate graphical designs and wireframes into fully styled markup code for AEM components (Touch UI Dialog, HTL/Sightly, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS)
- Implement technical solutions following the Capability's best practices and AEM design patterns
- Debug or troubleshoot issues in existing web applications and provide solutions
- Provide constructive feedback on operational processes (e.g., development/QA, Release etc.) when opportunities for improvement are identified
- Ensure concise and clear documentation is maintained for all projects as dictated by each Capability's guidelines and best practices
- Provide accurate status updates and task estimates to senior team members in a timely manner
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and work independently while knowing when to escalate or seek guidance
- Stay abreast of new technical skills, knowledge, and capabilities that can benefit project, team and personal performance
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions with team members
You Have
- At least 2-3 years of professional experience working with Front-End technologies
- BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience as Software Development in exact areas of expertise required for CM (Digital Agencies projects, Web development projects, SCRUM/Agile software projects).
- Proficient experience designing and developing web applications using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
- Proven fluency and practical experience in React or similar major JavaScript libraries/frameworks (Angular, Vue.js)
- Proficient knowledge of cross-browser, cross-device compatibility, and responsive web development (Mobile First approach)
- Understanding of modern web development practices including MVC architecture, Object-Oriented development, and Responsive Web Design
- Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) for content and component development
- Knowledge of AEM technologies: HTL (HTML Template Language), Sling Models, and JCR concepts, Clientlibs, Touch UI Dialogs (Granite UI and Coral UI) etc.
- Experience debugging or troubleshooting web applications using debugging tools such as browser plugins, IDEs, or debugging proxies
- Experience working with version control systems (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket)
- Work experience with data transfer formats popular in web applications (JSON, XML)
