About the job

Segment is a best-in-class customer data platform (CDP) designed with engineers, marketers, and product managers in mind. We’re excited to work at the cutting edge of data and artificial intelligence, such as with our AI-Assisted Suggest Mappings product. And, we move a lot of data—over 12 trillion API calls a year.

This position will be part of a talented, close-knit team of engineers on the Segment Activations team, who build, maintain, and constantly improve Segment UI/APIs for Segment’s Connections and Audiences products, including Engage, Journeys, and Linked Audiences. As a customer-obsessed company, we aim to wow customers with user-friendly products and top-notch in-app experiences.

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of React and front-end engineering best practices. He or she will work closely with design, product management, and other engineers, to identify areas for improvement, to maintain a high bar in reliability and ease of use, and ultimately to perfect our end-to-end activations experience for customers. The candidate will also serve as the team’s resident React and front-end expert, mentoring engineers of all levels on front-end best practices and guiding the evolution of Segment’s user interfaces.
