Frontend Software Engineer, Payments Experience

The Payments Experience engineering team is seeking a talented and motivated Frontend Software Engineer Iin Boston, MA or Seattle, WA. As an engineer in our team, you will work with a talented group of backend and frontend engineers, product managers, and business leaders in an Agile environment. Your Role:
As a Software Engineer focusing on the front-end as part of our Payments development team, you will be building scalable user experiences designed to wow our customers. Your work will directly impact millions of customers who care for their furry family members every day. You will help drive innovation, scalability and maintainability while working with our highly skilled engineering teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Build, deploy and scale frontend Single Page Applications (SPAs).
- Adhere to enterprise architecture and coding standards.
- Actively participate in architecture and code reviews to deliver high-quality code.
- Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos, and retros.
- Write scalable, performant, readable, and tested code
- Participate in technical decisions and collaborate with talented peers
- Write documentation on design, architecture, and solutions
- Provide mentorship and guidance for peers and more junior engineers
- Take responsibility and ownership of project timelines and deliverables
What You’ll Need:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of professional front-end development experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing scalable, high-performing, and fault-tolerant applications for large enterprises
- 2+ years of experience developing large-scale products using frontend technologies using React/JavaScript/ES6/Typescript/CSS
- Experience with micro-services, micro-frontend, and service-oriented architecture
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Hands-on experience working in a public cloud environment (AWS)
- The position may require travel
Preferred:
- Experience in e-commerce or Healthcare
- Experience with accessibility testing
- Experience in React, Vue, or Angular
- Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or similar automated testing tools
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or similar tools
Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a Software Engineer I position is $100,000.00 - $159,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
