Fullstack Software Engineer
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer to join an established technology team in Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA. The expectations of the prospective candidate will be the development, testing, implementation, and support of applications and related integrations. In this role, the ideal candidate will engage in iterative development, testing, and make contributions to the growth and development of one of Chewy’s fastest growing areas - our IT Healthcare team.

What you'll do:
- Work in functions that touch our end-to-end customer experience—whether it’s customer order and catalog management, ordering and payment modules, pricing and promotions tools, scheduling appointments, or operational analytics.
- Design and build interfaces that integrate every aspect of our business through cross-functional collaboration.
- Implement simple and sustainable code that reflects a deep understanding of our business and contributes meaningfully to the success of your team and delivery to our customers.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree (MIS or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years of full software development lifecycle experience including the ability to perform independent analysis
- 1-3 years of experience developing applications in web technologies (Java 8, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JQuery, JSON, AngularJS, Tomcat, HTML5, CSS3, Spring MVC)
- 1-3 years of experience in SQL and developing applications with relational database technologies
- 1-3 years of experience working web server technologies
- Strong analytical abilities and a strong intellectual curiosity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Ability to balance multiple priorities at a given time
- Must be team oriented and have a customer service mindset
- Self-driven, able to work independently or within a team setting
- Results oriented and adaptable
Bonus:
- Exposure to or experience with Scala, Kotlin, GraphQL
- Exposure to or experience with AWS or GCP
- Previous experience with software engineering practices for the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, building processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum, XP or etc.).
Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a Software Engineer position is $100,000.00 - $159,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
