The Team & Role

  • We are looking for a GL accountant to join our US accounting team. To be successful in this role you should have an understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting. The ideal candidate needs to have great accrual experience, be able to learn new processes quickly, have experience with inter-company and transfer pricing journal entries.The primary duties of this role will be to record day to day cash activities, month end accruals, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, audit and SOX support. 

You will work closely with the FP & A and the technical accounting team to support accounting notes on financial reports. This position reports directly to the General Ledger Manager.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely with US time zone while occasionally getting together with your team for office visits, events, or offsites. Of course, you’re welcome to come into the office more often if you’re nearby. 

What you’ll do

  • Perform accounting close activities, including monthly journal entries such as prepaid expense, ach payment gl entries, loan payment, benefits, fixed asset capitalization and allocations.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and other cross-functional departments to ensure completeness of expense accruals
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare inter-company and transfer pricing journal entries.
  • Maintain journal entries for internal and audit purposes.
  • Support accounting management on financial reports, schedules & regulatory reporting (e.g. the 10Q & 10K footnotes)
  • Assist with quarterly cash forecasts.
  • Assist in flux variance analyses
  • Assist in implementations of new policies and procedures
  • Assisting the team with accounting issues and queries.
  • Assist in SOX compliance and quarter/year-end audit requests.
  • Assist with Ad-hoc projects as needed.

 

Your experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3+ years general ledger experience.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite.
  • Coupa and Blackline experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles and financial statements
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficient with excel and google sheets
  • High attention to detail, good analytical skills, able to execute tasks and handle multiple priorities.
  • Past US industry experience and US GAAP knowledge
