The Team:

Celonis is growing its event marketing team and looking for an experienced and strategic leader in event marketing & management to join as the Director of Events & Experiences. In this role, the leader will provide top-tier experiential event strategy and outstanding operational excellence to ensure our Internal , Incentive & CX events deliver impactful, innovative, and unforgettable end-to-end experiences. 

The Role:

The ideal leader is a dynamic creative thinker and a driven achiever who understands how to plan and execute a diverse array of strategic event experiences for audiences ranging from 25 to 3,000+.This individual must possess an understanding and passion for collaboration, event strategy, stagecraft, production, content development and delivery, experiential design, event management and all other event marketing components essential for crafting a meaningful, memorable, and strategic “best in class” internal, incentive events & executive experiences.

 

This leader will play a pivotal role in leading, shaping, developing, and executing our Celonis event landscape and objectives. This leader will work collaboratively alongside event strategists, project managers, communications, digital & social promotions, procurement, finance, av & production, executive offices, field marketing, customer advocacy, partner marketing, product marketing, Celonis academy, sales, value engineering, brand, marketing operations and leadership in support of our internal, incentive, CX executive experiences & events. 

 

This role reports to the Global Senior Director,  Events & Experiences.  This role is responsible for architecting and delivering events that support and align with all regions of the company. 

 

The Work You'll Do:

  • Drive innovation, creativity, strategy, measurement & operational excellence in event experiences, leveraging emerging technologies and trends to deliver best-in-class events.
  • Lead and manage a team of event and production professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure event execution.
  • Proficient in crafting diverse, strategic internal event experiences, highly crafted executive and incentive events for audiences of 25  to 3,000+, showcasing strong creative thinking and audience engagement skills.
  • Strong event management skills demonstrated by previous experience in crafting compelling internal, incentive, and executive events that inform, educate, engage, and motivate our Celonis employees, while also inspiring our CX audiences to drive our business objectives and ROI, and deepen relationships with the C-suite.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their event needs and objectives and develop experiential components that drive engagement and strong ROI.
  • Break down silos, ensuring we demonstrate fully integrated comms in everything we do and helping bring others along, in our own Communications group and cross-functionally with various departments -- with strong communications and influence skills. Be a strong team player and collaborator. 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, partners, and industry associations to enhance event quality and achieve business goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging event technologies to ensure Celonis events remain cutting-edge and impactful.
  • Proven record of successful creative impact and operational excellence in large-scale global internal events, incentives and executive events , preferably in the technology industry.
  • Tangible historical experience managing and developing high-performing teams, bringing forward an inspiring, yet structured approach to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Demonstrable record of setting strategic direction to accomplish immediate and long-range objectives that address business issues and build trust across all stakeholder groups.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Grace under pressure is critical. 
  • Support our strategic events & experience department cross-functionally to deliver our flagship “tier one” event, Celsophere, and other key events and experiences within our Celonis event ecosystem.
  • Demonstrable negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Willingness to travel globally as required.

What Qualifications We Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, design, business administration, or a related field or equivalent event marketing industry experience. 
  • 5+ years' experience managing a team of event producers, experiential strategy, keynote, breakout , stage managers, entertainment, special guests , experiential production & design delivery.
  •  High potential, creative, collaborative, strategic and organized leader with 10+ years of experience creating, producing, strategic events &  experiences within a complex and heavily matrixed corporate environment.
  • Agency and brand experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, design, business administration, or a related field or equivalent event marketing industry experience. 
  • 5+ years' experience managing a team of event producers, experiential strategy, keynote, breakout , stage managers, entertainment, special guests , experiential production & design delivery.
  •  High potential, creative, collaborative, strategic and organized leader with 10+ years of experience creating, producing, strategic events &  experiences within a complex and heavily matrixed corporate environment.
  • Agency and brand experience preferred.
The base salary range below is for the role in the specified location, based on a Full Time Schedule. Total compensation package will include base salary + bonus/commission + equity + benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off). Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and that the actual total compensation offer will be determined based on various factors, including, but not limited to, applicant's qualifications, skills, experiences, and location.The base salary range below is for the role in California, based on a Full Time Schedule. $135,000—$214,000 USD
