Head of Food Safety and Compliance, Editions

You will help ensure food safety is maintained across Deliveroo Edition sites. Based in our London Head office and reporting to the Global Director of Strategic Site Operations, you will be responsible for the implementation, improvement and monitoring of food safety and health & safety standards.

 

Job Description:

  • Demonstrate overall accountability for maintaining the highest safety and hygiene standards on all sites across all five markets through international regulatory standards.

  • Lead the implementation, monitoring and improvement of Food Safety programs & processes.

  • Build networks and communicating clearly with multiple teams and partners to develop a culture of food safety, providing coaching, mentoring, training and advice on all levels.

  • Conduct Food Safety and health & safety inspections.

  • Manage the audit processes including scheduling, supporting sites with audit-related questions, and following up on any corrective actions.

  • Follow up on complaints or escalations relating to Food Safety issues with Restaurant Partners and implementing preventive measures and controls.

  • Guide our Restaurant Partners to remain compliant with high Food Safety standards.

  • Support in ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety regulations, reviewing and updating the H&S manuals, and accident investigations.

  • Overcome the difference in operating styles, systems and experiences between large & small Restaurant Partners.

  • Continually review Food Safety documentation, systems and due diligence processes.

  • Set and maintain food safety and health and safety procedures and training programs.

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across all geographies.

  • Monitor and evaluate food safety performance metrics, analysing data, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to improve our food safety practices.

  • Supporting sites' readiness for local authority inspections and carrying out internal audits as required.

 

The Successful Applicant:

  • Have a demonstrated experience in a similar role (minimum of 3+ years of branded restaurant or food industry experience managing a multi-site environment). 

  • Ideally hold a Higher Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or above in Food Science, Food Manufacturing or related disciplines. 

  • Possess a clear understanding of HACCP & familiarity with Food Laws, Food labelling laws, Food regulation and experience liaising with Local Authorities. 

  • Have a good understanding of Health & Safety and be able to offer guidance on various health & safety related matters. 

  • Demonstrates a willingness to succeed and great people skills to help complete projects/tasks.
