This hybrid position will be based in our Boston office Monday- Thursday, with Fridays remote.

We are seeking an experienced Global Payroll Manager to lead strategic payroll initiatives and drive the standardization of payroll processes. This role is responsible for managing a team of payroll professionals as well as outsourced payroll providers, ensuring compliance with local and international payroll laws, and improving operational efficiency through process optimization.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of multi-state and international payroll, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to build scalable and compliant payroll processes across regions

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and develop a team of payroll professionals, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Oversee global payroll functions, including multi-state and international payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Guide, oversee and direct payroll policy and procedures.
  • Streamline treasury funding requests for international payrolls.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across regions to standardize payroll operations and optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure regional payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, as well as international payroll regulations and best practices.
  • Administer and manage relationships with third-party payroll vendors and systems ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Talent, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Tax departments to ensure alignment on compensation, benefits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee payroll tax reporting and year-end activities, including W-2s and other regulatory filings.
  • Analyze payroll data, identify trends, and develop KPIs and reporting tools to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Continuously evaluate payroll processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities for automation and improvement. 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HR, or related field.
  • 5+ total Payroll experience, preferred Global Payroll Management experience with 10K plus employees.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. and international payroll compliance, tax regulations, and wage laws.
  • Proven experience with multi-state and/or global payroll management in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficient with payroll systems such as Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Proven experience managing outsourced payroll providers across the global landscape.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis).
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
