Our Montreal office developed the first automated bike-share system in North America (Bixi), a system that has since been deployed in multiple cities around the world: Chicago, London, Mexico, Montreal, Madrid, New York, San Francisco to name a few. These are also some of the biggest bike-share systems in the world!

Lyft’s team in Montreal is growing, and we are looking for a Global Supply Manager to help us scale.The Global Supply Manager is responsible for establishing the Supply Chain for key components and services supporting Lyft’s emerging Transit Bikes and Scooters division. You will play a key role in helping to establish the strategy and drive execution activities needed to bring our products to market. Specifically, you will be instrumental in leading the supplier selection activities and successfully manage key strategic supplier relationships including negotiating strategic agreements, component costing, and supplier management. This role is dependent on integrating and working directly with key Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, and Product Development teams.

In addition to the specific sourcing, procurement, and vendor management responsibilities, this position is expected to contribute to the maturity of the overall function. This includes creating and refining processes, tools and templates that can be applied across all vendors and categories worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop supply chain and commodity strategies ensuring supplier(s) are capable of meeting Lyft’s current and future technical and business requirements
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the assigned commodities including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements and competitive landscape
  • Identify and execute strategic supplier partnerships and commodity interventions to drive competitive advantages and leverage new technologies that support Lyft’s product roadmap
  • Establish supplier evaluation & selection criteria, evaluate alternative suppliers, manage the RFQ process, and drive final supplier selection in partnership with Hardware Engineering
  • Lead Total Cost Reduction program to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost, and cost of quality
  • Negotiate key strategic agreements with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
  • Enable Early Supplier Involvement initiatives to ensure our commodity suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps
  • Manage all aspects of the commercial and contractual engagement with our global supply base. Manage material spend and related capital investments
  • Travel periodically to supplier’s manufacturing sites to support NPI builds and/or conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with the supplier’s executive team
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience working in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, preferably in the Consumer Electronics and/or Micro-Mobility industries
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, finance, business administration, related discipline or relevant work experience. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • SPSM, CPSM, or CTPE Certification is a plus
  • Experience with New Product Introduction development phases (prototype, EVT, DVT and PVT) is a plus
  • Comfort with legal frameworks and contract negotiation (development, supply, licensing, and service agreements) is a plus
  • Prior experience working within an outsourced manufacturing model and managing global contract manufacturing partners and suppliers.
  • Prior experience working in a fast paced start-up environment is a plus

This role will be in-office in Montreal, Canada on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
