Wayfair is looking for a Global Trade Compliance professional. In this role, you will help build out the Global Trade Compliance team’s audit-related functions.  This includes analyzing and reviewing import data to identify compliance opportunities in areas such as anti-dumping and valuation, identifying savings and efficiency opportunities, and implementing remedial and proactive compliance measures. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of customs-related experience, familiarity with various import rules and regulations, particularly with respect to imports into Canada, demonstrated knowledge of Google Sheets or Excel and will excel at collaborating with cross-functional partners. An excellent candidate will also identify areas for increased efficiency and process improvement and proactively spot risk.

What you’ll do:

  •     Drive the area of customs entry audit and related processes for Wayfair’s imports.
  •     Proactively look for ways to improve compliance and create greater efficiencies in our processes.
  •     Work cross-functionally and develop relationships with members of a wide number of teams to enhance and develop this program.
  •     Demonstrate the ability to spot issues with the process and a strong sense of when to escalate (and not escalate) those matters to partners and stakeholders.
  •     Liaison with suppliers to obtain information and documentation.
  •     Take on ad hoc projects aimed at improving efficiency, eliminating redundancy and mitigating risk.
  •     Develop deep expertise in our business, industry and communities in order to anticipate and address risks to the company.

Who you are:

  •     Experience with import data and customs processes, and also familiarity with broker portals; experience with the Canada Border Services Agency is preferred.
  •     The perfect candidate will be comfortable working with and synthesizing large amounts of data and knowledge of SQL/GBQ is an asset.
  •     Ability to efficiently handle and organize multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced and innovative environment, to make quick but informed decisions and to persuasively advocate for a position.
  •     Willingness to utilize systems, tools and technology to solve or prevent problems.
  •     Excellent analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
  •     Willingness to roll up your sleeves, get into the nitty gritty, and tackle compliance problems of all sizes.
  • Ability to travel as needed 10-15% of time.
  • Position will be hybrid and based in the Boston office, but remote candidates will be considered.
