THE ROLE

We're seeking a passionate Hardware System Integration Engineer to join our Hardware Development Team. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and external partners to ensure our next-generation storage arrays are high-performing, reliable, and ready for production.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead complex system integration efforts for enterprise-grade storage arrays, bridging hardware modules, firmware, networking, and storage interfaces to create seamless, end-to-end solutions.

  • Architect and implement innovative solutions, defining system Bill of Materials (BOM) and guiding component selection in partnership with vendors and our commodity team to enable high performance.

  • Design and execute comprehensive system-level validation, including performance benchmarking, using industry-standard tools and scripts to ensure product quality and reliability.

  • Debug and troubleshoot complex, integrated system issues, performing root cause analysis and collaborating with internal teams and external OEM partners to drive solutions for field escalations.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Hands-on expertise in x86 architectures and networking, with a solid background in automating system validation and testing.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex, system-level issues across multiple technical domains.

  • A proven ability to understand, automate, and tune industry-standard benchmarks (e.g., SPEC, MLPerf, IO500, FIO, iPerf) to validate performance and inform design decisions.
  • The ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment, demonstrating a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.

  • Solid background in automating system validation and testing, including coding/scripting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of authoring clear technical documentation and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
