Castlegate Forwarding Head of Destination Operations, Associate Director

Wayfair is looking for an inspirational Operations leader with a strong background in leading and developing teams with a mix of process execution, tech partnerships and team development focus. This candidate will be a natural collaborator leveraging great communication and partnership skills to have impact at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Lead execution, improvement, and expansion of US, Canada and Europe landside operations for ocean freight
  • Act as Wayfair’s lead expert on drayage and destination port operations
  • Lead and develop a team of 25+ Associates and Managers
  • Work collaboratively with Tech leaders to develop a roadmap which delivers capabilities that support the efficient scaling and enables Perfect daily execution
  • Manage the North America drayage product through a robust procurement and vendor management process
  • Design, bring to launch, and ultimately own origin operations for any new market geographies
  • Define and communicate a 6-12 month work plan, identifying opportunities to drive measurable impact across broader OKRs aligned to our commited business goals
  • Identify and deliver opportunities through a combination of data driven analysis and observations
  • Build a strong Supplier feedback loop through close collaboration with our Sales & Service teams and utilizing relevant Trade shows
  • Ensure effective coordination with Asia- and EU-based operations
  • Enable effective inbound forecasting and planning for the Network Management team and the Wayfair Fulfillment Center network
  • Build strong partnerships and collaboration with leaders and stakeholders to enable consistency in programs with peers

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years of experience in a Logistics or Supply Chain role, preferably with freight forwarding and/or eCommerce operations
  • 5+ years of leadership experience; preferably including leading teams of over 20
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering Tech transformation programs
  • Experience interfacing with Sr. Leadership; developing relationships, objectively challenging, presenting, reporting, and consulting
  • Ability to continuously execute the present day process at a high level while working to improve, expand, and transform the operation in parallel
  • Ability to collaboratively partner across all levels and functions throughout the organization to assess talent development needs, build long-term strategies, and recommend viable design solutions
  • Proven experience developing global data-driven processes
  • Articulate, persuasive communicator across multiple organizational levels
  • Ability to evaluate data to illustrate meaningful performance trends and identify opportunity areas 
  • Critical thinking and creative problem solving skills and flexibility to adjust to frequent changes in training priorities and schedules to accommodate business needs
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in an fast moving environment with certain level of ambiguity

All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Monday - Thursday, and work remotely Friday.
