Location:London, England, United Kingdom (A mix between - WFH and client's office)

 

ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Head of Digital Marketing will lead the agency team within our client’s business which is an internationally known B2B organisation. We have been appointed to create a Digital Centre of Excellence within the clients’ pharmaceutical practice.  The Digital Centre of Excellence will drive and embed digital best practices. Own the development and strategy of digital channels. Understand and grow audience & engagement through all digital touchpoints.  

ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

Reporting to the Business Director, the Head of Digital Marketing oversees the team of 6 digital marketing experts within the dedicated Digital Centre of Excellence function. You will take responsibility of the main digital marketing channels and you will be expected to work closely with other external agencies and partners.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

The successful candidate will be setting up and leading a new team to exploit digital channels to create and optimise lead generation and engagement programmes.  This will involve identifying new audiences, developing new digital propositions and creating robust test and learn programmes.  This role comes with measurable revenue objectives. As well as leading the Digital Centre of Excellence you’ll be working in partnership with the clients’ Head of Brand Marketing, Head of Events Marketing and Digital Product and Digital Deployment leads. 

WHAT IS REQUIRED: 

  • The gravitas and experience to be the digital expert in the room 
  • Specifically, an understanding of digital lead generation and lead management techniques. 
  • An innovative strategic thinker with a solid grounding in B2B marketing. 
  • Ability to identify and drive new digital propositions
  • Proven track record in delivering commercial success (digital, marketing & commercial KPIs)
  • A broad understanding of all digital channels and how they work in a B2B context (esp. content and social). 
  • An analytical thinker who can get the best out of in-house data analysts and strategists
  • Someone with ambition to raise the profile of a successful B2B brand, and a lover of great creative work.
  • Build strong value-add client relationships at various levels. 
  • Experienced team leader and developer of people.
  • Working in a team of approx. 34.
  • 5 direct reports. 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Experienced leader and a strong understanding of how to motivate and develop high performing teams. 
  • Experience of building and sustaining meaningful client partnerships whilst maintaining a strong commercial focus. 
  • Results driven – creation of and delivery against business plans driven by growth targets 
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to robustly create and present solutions and strategies to clients, and continually cascade knowledge / news throughout immediate teams and the wider business 
  • Confident working autonomously with partner or 3rd party agencies 
  • Excellent presentation skills – both written and spoken 
  • Understanding of how to integrate with a client-side team whilst maintaining a top tier agency service. 
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical sector would be a benefit, B2B experience is a must 
  • Experience of Martech solutions would be useful
  • 10+ years of relevant digital marketing experience in leading an evolving brand from being a nascent to a mature digital player.
