Job Description

How will you spend your days?

You’ll be part of a client facing team who are passionate about supply chain management, zealous about technology, and serious about saving money. You will spend your days helping our customer’s get the most out of its supply chain and its customers spend their money more effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain successful working relationships with senior stakeholders across functions (both internal and external) in order to develop, successfully implement and optimise a procurement strategy.

· Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the organisation's objectives, cost reduction goals, and sustainability initiatives.

· Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions while maintaining high ethical standards.

· Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

· Cost Optimisation: Continuously analyse procurement costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or compliance.

· Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of procurement professionals, setting clear goals, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of excellence.

· Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

· Quality Assurance: Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure the procurement of high-quality products and services that meet the organisation's standards.

· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions or supplier-related issues.

· Budget Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and cost-saving initiatives.

· Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed procurement decisions.

Skills/Experience Required

· Ability to explain complex issues (such as licencing matters) to other non-technical stakeholders. Your communication are succinct, concise and deliver a high amount of information.

· Ability to unblock and resolve issues with third parties. You can act as the escalation point, and step in to resolve matters.

· Mentoring and developing a team of direct reports. You have managed procurement teams before, and you can get the best out of people.

· Ability to facilitate, organise and chair meetings. This includes ensuring that governance (such as minutes and records) is kept up to date.

· A background in technology delivery with previous experience across governance, vendor management, financial management.

· Identifies and acts on opportunities for continuous improvement. You understand lean methodologies and have experience in developing and improving procurement services.
