Bankrate is seeking a visionary Head of Product to build and lead a world-class product organization from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to define the product discipline for a portfolio that has historically lacked a dedicated, high-functioning product function. You will be responsible for shaping the vision, structure, and processes that drive product excellence across our consumer experiences, financial institution partner solutions, and internal platforms.
You’ll work closely with the CTPO, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and external partners to deliver innovative, scalable products that advance Bankrate’s mission, accelerate growth, and create industry-leading user experiences.
What You’ll Do:
1. Build the Product Function- Establish a modern product management practice — frameworks, rituals, tools, and metrics — aligned with Bankrate’s strategic goals.
- Define product team structure, hiring plan, and career paths to attract and retain top-tier PM talent.
- Instill a culture of data-driven decision-making, rapid iteration, and customer obsession.
- Partner with the CTPO and executive leadership to create a clear, compelling product vision that aligns with Bankrate’s strategic plan.
- Translate strategy into a measurable roadmap balancing short-term wins with long-term innovation.
- Identify market opportunities through competitive analysis, customer research, and financial modeling.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with engineering, design, and marketing to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Implement best practices for discovery, prioritization, and release management.
- Set clear success metrics (OKRs, KPIs) and monitor product performance post-launch.
- Serve as a product ambassador externally with financial institutions, affiliates, and strategic partners — shaping offerings to meet partner needs and passing security, compliance, and technical reviews.
- Deeply understand the needs of both sides of our two-sided marketplace: consumers and financial institutions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 in senior leadership roles.
- Proven success building and scaling product organizations from early-stage or low-maturity environments.
- Strong understanding of platform businesses, marketplaces, and partner-integrated products — ideally in fintech, financial services, or related sectors.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and influence executives.
- Comfort operating in both strategic and hands-on modes.
- Experience managing external-facing product relationships and navigating enterprise-level partner security/compliance reviews.
