Contract: 12 month fixed term contract

Hours: 40 hour per week, Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and driven Health & Safety Supervisor to manage our safety and security initiatives across our UK & Ireland Home Delivery Network! 

With responsibility for five sites, the Health & Safety Supervisor plays a crucial role in providing advice and guidance to all of our sites, ensuring that our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all of our employees and partners is adhered to. 

You'll also provide strong H&S leadership, working in a consultative and highly collaborative manner with stakeholders to truly embed strong safety practices into all aspects of our operations. 

What you will do: 

Partnering with our Global Safety & Security Business Support and Compliance teams you'll support operations across our five UK sites in executing our global safety vision by anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards to build in robust safety practices. This includes implementing our Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and our Safety & Security Accountability programs. 

Working closely with your sites, you will foster a culture of Safety First consciousness by collaborating with all levels of site management to mitigate risks, resolve safety and security issues and manage H&S cases and investigations on an ongoing basis. You'll advise on best practices, standardising processes where needed and escalating any requests for change where necessary to the Safety Compliance Team. Wayfair have a culture of implementing continuous improvement, and part of this role is also to develop robust action plans to improve safety and security culture, raising awareness and promoting engagement. 

In addition you will manage any administration required such as preparing and submitting incident reports in compliance with company requirements. We also utilise a third party guard service which you will provide daily guidance for, ensuring there are no gaps in coverage. 

What you will need: 

  • Demonstrable experience in a dedicated Safety and/or Security role, NEBOSH or IOSH Certification is preferable but not required. 
  • Proficient knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements that govern worker Health & Safety, physical assessment and ergonomic skills with experience of H&S case management. Demonstrable working knowledge of safety and security concepts, best practices, policies, programs and procedures.
  • Have the ability to handle multiple projects and caseloads. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large data sets, build insights and implement action plans

This is a UK wide role and involves travel when required.
