Health and Safety Administrator
Location: Tomken Rd & Matheson Blvd East, Mississauga
Shift: Thursday to Monday 9:00am-5:00pm - availability to work outside these days will be required.
About the Role
The Healthy and Safety Administrator will report to the Health and Safety Specialist, and will adhere to and support the HelloFresh Health and Safety Management System, working cooperatively with the Safety Department and National Safety Team. Responsibilities will include maintaining incident records, generating weekly and monthly trending reports and collaborating with site supervisors for areas of improvement. The Health and Safety Administer will also assist the Safety Department in coaching a diverse workforce on carrying out their duties in compliance with company policies and applicable health and safety legislation.
What you will be doing:
- Assist in completing Health and Safety documentation, as required by the Health and Safety Specialist, including (but not limited to) maintenance of health and safety records and statistics, toolbox talks preparation, hazard assessments, and safe work practices and procedures.
- Maintain current health and safety manual policies and attend to necessary revisions
- Complete and submit incident documentation while maintaining worker confidentiality.
- Performing and documenting worksite inspections and risk/hazard assessments.
- Assist with the WCB return-to-work program and modified duty management.
- Assist with first aid treatment and assessment.
- Assist with coaching other workers on performing their duties safely, including intervening if unsafe behaviors or acts are identified.
- Collaborating with other company departments to find solutions to identified safety concerns.
- Attending Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and posting/storing meeting documents.
- Participate in and maintain Internal audit corrective actions and the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program.
- Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.
- Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.
- Other duties as assigned.
At a minimum, you have:
- Completed a post-secondary in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field or equivalent work experience in an OHS background.
- Detail-oriented with a proven ability to prioritize and work efficiently with minimum direction or supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including active listening and proofreading.
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- A valid Advanced First Aider certification from a recognized Alberta training facility would be considered an asset.
- Competent in using Google Drive programs, including Docs, Sheets, Slides and Calendar.
- Ability to read and take directions in English.
- Must be willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment (0° to 5° Celsius).
