The High School Facilitator at Road to Hire is vital in advancing our shared mission of breaking the cycles of intergenerational poverty by empowering young individuals with access to higher education, lucrative careers, and prosperous futures. Our programs are thoughtfully crafted to meet students at their current level and pave the way for impactful careers in STEM fields.

Road to Hire actively prioritizes supporting students who face ongoing barriers due to financial constraints and systemic inequalities, equipping them for success in high-demand sectors such as technology, healthcare, engineering and beyond.

In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding and mentoring students toward fulfilling their potential, breaking through barriers, and preparing them for rewarding careers that align with our mission to create pathways to economic prosperity and post-secondary success. 

The start date is subject to potential adjustment to accommodate the end of the school year.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Fort Mill office. The team is in the office weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (remote work Mondays and Fridays). The team pivots between CMS classrooms and the Fort Mill office during the school year. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Employ pedagogical expertise to design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning styles, focusing on professional development, career, business, and technical skills essential for student success. 
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment, fostering meaningful relationships with program participants to guide them effectively toward achieving their post-secondary aspirations.
  • Utilize formative and summative assessment strategies to evaluate students' progress comprehensively, providing constructive feedback on their professional performance and ensuring consistent attendance to enhance their educational journey.
  • Implement evidence-based instructional practices to assess and enhance the effectiveness of teaching methods, conducting impact assessments and updating curriculum as necessary to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Conduct systematic curriculum audits to uphold the quality and relevance of training materials, aligning content with industry standards and emerging trends to meet the evolving needs of students.
  • Organize enriching offsite visits aligned with the professional development curriculum, facilitating practical learning experiences that bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.
  • Engage proactively in coaching students on essential skills like time management and study habits, leveraging teaching strategies that promote self-regulation and academics.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Expertise in curriculum design and lesson planning, promoting student-centered learning environments that foster critical thinking, creativity, and skill development among young adult participants, evident by 3+ years of in-person engagement. 
  • Demonstrated success in facilitating engaging and interactive educational experiences for 20+ young adult learners, incorporating diverse teaching methodologies and innovative approaches to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
  • Extensive expertise in professional development, career planning, and business skills, coupled with a solid foundation in technical competencies, acquired through a robust background in designing and delivering educational programs that prepare young adults for success in high-demand industries.
  • Experience in embracing innovation and experimentation to enhance teaching practices, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to create engaging and relevant learning experiences for students in a fast-paced setting.
  • Previous use of data tracking tools like Hubspot, Data Studio, Excel, and Google Sheets to monitor and analyze student progress.
  • Skilled in interpreting and analyzing student performance data to provide personalized support and interventions for individual learners.
  • Strong track record of fostering students' personal and professional development, providing mentorship, guidance, and resources to support their journey towards achieving their academic and career goals.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced setting and can adapt to meet deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with the capacity to tailor curriculum and training to meet the specific needs of each class.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues, students, and community stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently and making informed, real-time decisions to drive positive outcomes.
  • Open-minded, receptive to feedback, and willing to learn and grow from diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Strong alignment with Road to Hire's mission, values, and educational philosophy.

Compensation: 

  • The starting salary is $53,000. 
  • Actual salary is based on qualifications, and experience.

  • R2H High School program: Supports students at Charlotte’s Title I, low-income high schools. These students take Road to Hire classes for credit, learn technical and life skills and earn paths to debt-free college and high-earning careers.
  • R2H College program: Provides financial support, mentorship, programming and community to historically underrepresented students pursuing post-secondary education through R2H College program. This program supports eligible graduates of the R2H High School program who are pursuing higher education as their route to high-earning career opportunities. 
  • Golden Door Scholars (GDS): Supports undocumented and DACA or TPS holders across the U.S. in their journeys through higher education and high-earning career opportunities.
