Appian is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) who will deliver people andorganisational solutions within the EMEA region. This role offers the unique opportunity to help drivethe impact of the HRBP function in a growing organisation.The HRBP will serve as a proactive consultant and adviser to business unit leaders in the effectivemanagement of their workforce through performance management, employee engagement, talentassessments, leadership development, succession planning and more. They will implement peopleand organisational solutions across the client group they support. They will measure/monitor theneeds of employees and the leaders they support through effectively building and developingrelationships across all levels of the organisation. The HRBP will utilise diagnostics and tools toaddress and understand organisational dynamics to align with the business environment, implementand refine long and short term continuous improvement initiatives while managing the day-to-daytactical issues and requirements. The HRBP will effectively interact with business leaders at alllevels, possess excellent communication skills, strong business acumen and work effectively acrossmultiple geographies.This role will be based in one of our European offices with responsibility for all business groups andemployees within specific geographic locations. These could include the UK, Netherlands, Sweden,Germany, Switzerland ,France, Spain, Portugal or Italy.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:● Act as a strategic HR partner for your designated sub-region● Build relationships with senior business leaders to offer thought leadership onorganisational and people-related strategy and execution.● Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day managementof employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with thelegal department and external employment counsel as needed/required on employeerelations matters.● Support the development of local HR policies and processes that are specific to thesub-region.● Provide expertise and coaching in areas such as career planning, performancemanagement, coaching, learning and development, recognition, people integrationstrategies and strategic development to business leaders.
● Function as a consultant and counselor to key leaders and their respectiveorganisations; engage in strategic planning meetings to translate business needs intoPeople plans.● Resolve conflicts and mediate employee issues. Conduct effective, thorough andobjective investigations.● Develop and drive strategies to develop, engage and retain strong and diverse talent.● Enable and effectively manage ongoing change.● Use and request data strategically. Identify and surface trends in both qualitative andquantitative data to help improve organisational health, understand when data willassist in making smart, informed decisions and to monitor the "pulse" of employees toensure a high level of employee engagement.● Identify and deploy impactful people strategies and policies that enable theorganisation to perform effectively and scale efficiently as it grows● Lead the facilitation and management of all People programs within the department(performance reviews, employee surveys, development programs, etc.)● Partner with global HRBP organisation to ensure effective communications and deliveryof HR programs globally.● Partner with and support the US and EMEA HR Operations team to ensure that HRoperations are adapted where needed to ensure consistency with local practices acrossthe region.● Partner with other People Team groups as a cross-functional team across TalentAcquisition, L&D, Compensation, Legal and Benefits on communications, projects andbest practices. Collaborate with these teams to ensure high-quality implementation ofcritical operating rhythms such as performance management and compensationplanning, leveraging resources as appropriate.● This position currently has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may serve as acoach and mentor for other positions in the department.● Perform additional duties as needed.Basic Qualifications:● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or another related field.● Established experience in Human Resource management and/or business partner functionswith particular experience in employee relations and leadership coaching● Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensationpractices, organisational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management,and European employment laws.
● Excellent business acumen● An ability to dive deep on client issues provide thought leadership and drive impact/businessoutcomes.● Detailed-oriented, highly organized, and data driven. Adept at setting and tracking goals andmanaging process.● Language skills requirements:○ Fluent in Spanish and English reading and writing.○ Conversant in Italian (preferrable)
