This is a hybrid role - you will be supporting our HR team in London whilst taking over back office tasks and making sure the Dusseldorf office runs smoothly.
As an HR Generalist you will be responsible for a variety of HR tasks or initiatives, including being a first point of contact for employees (primarily in Dusseldorf) to help them with their operational questions and advising managers on all HR-related issues. You will also be responsible for duties related to the employee lifecycle process. As part of the EMEA HR Team, which is based in Mintel's London HQ, you will be the first team member based locally in our growing Düsseldorf office, working closely with local stakeholders such as the Commercial Country Manager for Germany.You will also assist with office-related tasks such as planning events for our Dusseldorf team and managing the day to day running of our Dusseldorf office. You will be an advocate for the Mintel culture i.e. leading on topics such as hybrid working, the future of work and potentially getting involved with social initiatives and events such as Mintel Gives, Healthy Minds Network etc.

What you’ll do:
In the role of an HR Generalist:
- Responsible for HR Administration tasks such as drafting contracts, issuing reference letters etc.
- Maintaining the HRIS database
- Ensuring Right to Work procedures are maintained
- Provide guidance and support to local managers on performance management
- Ensuring the Company complies with local laws to maintain and enhance a positive, non-discriminatory and safe work environment. These changes will include reviewing policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Being the first point of contact for our payroll office
- Notify the HRBP, EMEA of any issues that need action
- Maintain regular communication with the London HR team
- Support the recruitment team in labor law questions (i.e. visa processes in Germany etc.) and with employer branding
Additional office management tasks:
- Managing the day to day running of the office, ordering supplies, liaising with the building manager etc.
- Liaising with our London Facilities Team to ensure Health and Safety practises are followed
- Dealing with company suppliers and vendors
- Assisting colleagues with queries and administrative tasks
- Creating presentations, formatting documents and posters (i.e. for events)
- Managing the incoming and outgoing post
- Maintaining our desk booking system
- Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned as could be reasonably expected in relation to the administration role (e.g. looking at new office space as we expand)
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 2 years human resources experience with hands-on experience in operational HR processes and procedures in Germany
- A good knowledge of German labour law
- A “hands on approach” to getting the job done
- Great organizing ability
- Flexibility and a willingness to tackle a variety of duties and to learn new skills
- Fluency in English as well as German.
- Bachelor’s Degree within Human Resources, Business Administration or related is an advantage
